Dr M Rajaram

Dr. M. Rajaram is a qualified Engineer with B. Tech (Mechanical Engg.), M.Tech (Industrial Engg.), Ph.D (Safety Engg.) qualifications. He Served Govt. of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment as Director General & Chief Inspector of Dock Safety (for all Major ports in India) in the Directorate General Factory Advice Service and labour Institutes and got superannuated on 31/08/2012

He was involved in decision making and administration of the Factories Act 1948, The Dock workers (Safety, Health & Welfare) Act. 1986, The Building and other Construction workers Act 1996. He liaised with ILO, Geneva on ratification of ILO conventions on Labour related issues in India. He was involved in the effective implementation of “THE NATIONAL POLICY ON SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIORNMENT AT WORK PLACE” with all Central and State Govts. including all stake holders concerning with occupational Safety & Health of workers while at work. He was also involved in various vital discussions and meetings with interministerial departments, planning commission, parliament queries on the subject concerning with occupational safety, Health and Welfare of the workers, as per the Govt. laid down statutory Acts and Rules therein. He was appointed by Govt. of India as a Chairperson to investigate and to recommend corrective measures in some of the major catastrophes occurred in India in the recent past. He was the principal assessment and coordinator for the prestigious Prime Minister Sharam Awards (PMSA) and Viswakarma Rastriya Puraskar Awards (VRP) and National Safety Awards (NSA) Constituted by Govt. of India.
